The San Francisco 49ers announced that they have waived former first-round pick WR Jon Baldwin and claimed WR L’Damian Washington off of waivers from the Cowboys.
Baldwin came over from the Chiefs in a trade for fellow first-round pick A.J. Jenkins, but he hasn’t been able to carve out a role in the team’s offense.
Baldwin, 24, signed a one-year, $645,000 contract that included another $755,000 available in incentives with the 49ers back in February.
The Cowboys signed Washington as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri, but placed him on waivers Saturday. During his college career, he totaled 100 receptions for 1,735 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns over the course of four years.
