49ers Without LB Patrick Willis For Some Time?

The 2011 season for the San Francisco 49ers has had very few bumps in the road to this point. They have just clinched the NFC West for the first time since 2002 and have a great shot at nailing down a first-round bye in the playoffs.

The issue for this team is the recent injury to Patrick Willis.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that a league source informed him that Willis “could miss a little time” after suffering a Grade 2 hamstring strain.

Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area adds that Willis miss end up missing practice throughout the week and possibly even Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Hamstring injuries have kept a number of players out much longer than initially assumed so this is a situation worth monitoring until Willis shows that he’s able to return to the practice field.
