49ers Won’t Activate CB Will Redmond From Injured Reserve

49ers DC Jim O’Neil announced Tuesday that they won’t activate CB Will RedmondĀ from injured reserve, which means he’ll revert to the non-football-injury/injured reserve list, per Cam Inman.

This is interesting, considering that the 49ers used their designation to return on Redmond a few weeks ago.

Redmond, 22, was taken in the third round of this year’s NFL draft. He signed a four-year, $3.54 million contract with the 49ers and stands to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season.

The 49ers placed him on injured reserve coming out of the preseason.

During his college career at Mississippi State, Redmond recorded 94 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss, five interceptions, and eight pass defenses over the course of three seasons and 26 games.
