Free agent C Tim Barnes, OL Kitt O’Brien and CB Steve Williams are trying out for the 49ers on Wednesday during their minicamp, according to Matt Maiocco.
It’s worth mentioning that signing Barnes to a contract won’t impact a team’s compensatory picks, considering that he was released.
Barnes, 28, originally signed with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri back in 2011. He played out a number of one-year contracts before signing a two-year agreement with the Rams last year.
In 2016, Barnes appeared in all 16 games for the Rams and Pro Football Focus graded him as the No. 31 overall center out of 38 qualifying players.
