Panthers Activate K Joey Slye & OL Trent Scott From COVID-19 List, Add CB Rasul Douglas

The Carolina Panthers announced Friday that they’ve activated K Joey Slye and OL Trent Scott from the COVID-19 list and placed CB Rasul Douglas on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

The COVID-19 list was created this summer for a player who either tests positive for or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons.

Players will remain on the list until they are medically cleared to return.

Slye, 24, signed with the Giants after going undrafted out of Virginia Tech following the 2019 NFL Draft. He was waived in May before being brought back in July and waived again.

Slye caught on with the Panthers last August as a camp leg but ended up taking the starting job after K Graham Gano landed on injured reserve. He re-signed with the team this offseason.

In 2020, Slye has made 16/18 field goal attempts (88.8 percent). Slye has also made 10/12 extra-point attempts.
