Panthers LB Luke Kuechly Has Hyperextended Knee, But Expected To Be Fine

Albert Breer reports that Panthers LB Luke Kuechly suffered a hyperextended knee during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Cowboys, but he’s expected to be fine moving forward.

Kuechly was able to walk off the field, but was clearly favoring his left leg. He did return to the game, so it was clear that this wasn’t a major issue.

Kuechly, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Panthers back in 2012. He’s currently in the fourth year of his six-year, $64.105 million contract and set to make base salaries of $7.6 million and $10 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Kuechly appeared in 15 games for the Panthers and recorded 125 tackles, 1.5 sacks, three interceptions, a forced fumble, two recoveries, a defensive touchdown and six pass defenses.
