“A Couple Of Teams” Interested In Chiefs’ No. 1 Overall Pick

Chiefs new head coach Andy Reid mentioned on Tuesday that they’ve been in contract with a few teams regarding their No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft.

They’re been a couple of teams that have talked to us,” said Reid, via USA Today. “We’re going to keep all the options open.”

Reid added that they’re currently considering “about eight to 10 guys” if they end up keeping the pick.

The overall consensus is that there isn’t any one player who is heads above everyone else in this year’s draft class, so it would be somewhat surprising to see a team trade up to No. 1 overall given the cost of making such a move. Many expect the Chiefs to select Texas A&M OT Luke Joeckel with the first over pick, now that they parted ways with RT Eric Winston.
