A Deal Coming For Matt Forte In The Next Few Weeks?

Bears’ RB Matt Forte mentioned that he’s “probably the healthiest I’ve been since coming out of college.”

Last year, Forte suffered a sprained MCL and has dealt with minor issues in the past year’s as well, so this is obviously good news for Chicago. They’ve leaned on Forte quite a bit in the last few year’s, but the addition of Michael Bush should lighten his workload this season.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter mentioned over the weekend that he expects to see the Bears and RB Matt Forte come to an agreement regarding a long-term extension before the deadline to negotiate with franchised players on July 16.

Forte recently said that he’s not planning to holdout of the team’s upcoming training camp, despite the fact that he’s currently without a contract. He’s reportedly looking for a similar contract to the ones recently signed by players like LeSean McCoy and Arian Foster.

  1. He’s not there. The best the Bear’s will offer is maybe 15 mill but 7.7 per year isn’t bad. There is always next year.
