A Run On Cornerbacks Could Come Towards The End Of Round One

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, it appears as though there could be a run on cornerbacks starting around pick No. 20 and into the latter portion of round one.

I expect there to be at least a mini-run on corners in the opening round as well, with several of them possibly going in succession in the 20s,” writes La Canfora.

As La Canfora points out, the Bengals and Saints have done “exhaustive work” on cornerback prospects in recent months and adds that Chargers are also among teams who could target a cornerback in the 20s.

Of the players that could be taken during this range of picks, La Canfora specifically mentions that Kyle Fuller (Virginia Tech), Darqueze Dennard (Michigan State), Bradley Roby (Ohio State), and Jason Verrett (TCU).

The value of cornerbacks has been on the rise and there is a case to be made that there could be decent value at this point in the draft for teams in need of defensive back help.

We have Fuller and Dennard going in the first round of our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
