Adam “Pacman” Jones Tweets He Was Arrested for Self Defense

Monday afternoon, Cincinnati Bengals DB Adam “Pacman” Jones tweeted:

The 29-year-old claims he was approached by two women at a Cincinnati Reds game, both seeming to be intoxicated, asking for a photograph with Jones. After he declined, one of the women reportedly hurled a beer bottle at Jones’ head, striking him. Jones claims to have slapped one of the women in a move he deemed defensive.

Jones’ agent, Peter Schaffer, told Pro Football Talk that the police have yet to talk t anybody who witnessed the event, aside from the two women.

“If it was anybody other than Adam Jones, they would have investigated it,” Schaffer said.  “If it was anybody other than Adam Jones, they wouldn’t have arrested him.”

Jones has a history of problems in the NFL. He has however remained out of the spotlight since serving a one-year suspension in 2008. Since then, he has avoided the negativity. This surely will have an impact on his football career, however.
