Adrian Peterson Will Start Surgical Procedures Tomorrow

Tom Pelissero of 1500ESPN.com reports that Minnesota Vikings head coach mentioned that RB Adrian Peterson will undergo knee surgery tomorrow to repair his ACL, MCL and meniscus.

I don’t know if six days is fast or not,” said Frazier, per Pelissero’s report. “But I know in his case, everything is in place for him to have the surgery. There’s nothing out of the ordinary for him, otherwise we wouldn’t be having the surgery done (Friday).

Both the Vikings and Peterson aren’t wasting anytime getting the surgery done and moving on to his rehabilitation. The hope here is that acting quickly will allow him to heal in time for the start of the 2012 season.

It’s still a devastating injury to one of the leagues best players. Hopefully he’ll be able to continue his phenomenal career at the same pace he was on.
