Bills rookie QB Josh Allen says there’s “really no pressure” on him right now, as he prepares for his first season in the NFL.
“There’s really no pressure,” Allen said, via BuffaloBills.com. “There’s nothing that’s been said to me that has made me feel uncomfortable or feel worried about anything at all. I’m here to get better, I’m here to be the best teammate, the best quarterback that I can be. That’s what I’m trying to do.”
“Josh has a strong arm,” McDermott said. “I think we all know that. I’ve been around the league long enough to know that it’s one of the stronger arms. I’m not going to compare it to some of the guys I’ve been around. He’s got a talented arm, so within that, there’s other areas that are just as important, though, for arm strength, and that’s where we have a lot of work to do. The great part about Josh is [that] he came in with a great mindset. He’s embraced that growth mindset of getting better every day and that’s what we’re looking forward to in the future.”
Dolphins HC Adam Gase was asked about the fact that RB Frank Gore is 35 years old.
“It’s irrelevant,” Gase said regarding Gore’s age, via Hal Habib of the Palm Beach Post. “He’s a different dude.”
Gase and Gore previously worked together while they were with the 49ers several years ago and Gase believes he looks “exactly the same.”
“It’s been 10 years since we were together,” Gase said. “I mean it seems like forever. The guy looks exactly the same.”
- Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News writes that the Jets’ decision to sign CB Trumaine Johnson in free agency should take some pressure off of Morris Claiborne this year.
- Claiborne returned to the Jets on another one-year contract this offseason and Mehta says he’ll once again have to prove he can stay healthy and remain an effective corner for what should be an improved Jets’ secondary.
- As of now, the Jets reportedly aren’t fully convinced that Claiborne has shaken the injury bug, according to Mehta.
