AFC East Notes: Bills, Dolphins, Patriots

Bills

  • Ryan Talbot of New York Upstate reports that the Bills are interested in Broncos OL coach Sean Kugler.
  • However, the Broncos have been denying Buffalo’s request for the time being while they focus on their head-coaching search.

Dolphins

Adam Beasley handicaps the candidates for the Dolphins’ head-coaching job as:

  1. Kris Richard – 1-1
  2. Brian Flores – 3-1
  3. Darren Rizzi – 5-1
  4. Eric Bieniemy – 6-1
  5. Dennis Allen – 10-1
  6. John or Jim Harbaugh – 20-1
  • Beasley adds that John Harbaugh could become the Dolphins’ coach at some point in the future, but doesn’t see Miami “giving away the farm” for him when he will likely be a free agent in 2020.
  • Beasley admits that if Harbaugh forces his way out of Baltimore, things could obviously change.
  • A very plugged in source ruled out Harbaugh ending up with the Dolphins, according to Beasley.

Patriots

  • Albert Breer reports that the Patriots offered the Lions a third-round pick for WR Golden Tate before the trade deadline, but Detroit figured the Eagles would end up with the higher pick.
  • Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk says Kliff Kingsbury could be an option for the Patriots if Josh McDaniels leaves for a head-coaching job.
