AFC East Notes: Bills, Dolphins, Patriots

Bills

  • Mike Rodak reports that long snapper Reid Ferguson‘s agreed to a three-year deal with the Bills worth $2.745 million.
  • The contract includes cap figures of $850,000 (2019), $900,000 (2020) and $995,000 (2021) to go along with a $375,000 signing bonus and $75,000 of his $700,000 salary guaranteed this season.

Dolphins

  • According to Barry Jackson, an official close to Cowboys DBs coach Kris Richard said Dolphins’ preferred he hire a young offensive coordinator as opposed to an older retread and Miami wasn’t pleased with his suggestions for the position.

Patriots

Cordarrelle Patterson was asked about possibly playing running back for them full-time and believes he could handle it.

If [RBs coach Ivan Fears] needs me to take 30 carries Sunday, I can take 30 carries,” Patterson said, via NESN.com. “If that’s what he wants, I can do it for him. Just for him.

“All season, I have to prepare myself for that. That’s a lot of big boys down there, and you get hit every play, so if I prepared myself for it, I think I can do it.”

Patterson admitted that he would need to shift around some of his weight and add some muscle.

“Then I can handle it,” Patterson said.

  • Patriots LB Dont’a Hightower (illness) and DT Malcom Brown (calf) were both full participants in Friday’s practice and have been removed from the injury report.
