AFC North Notes: Bengals, Browns, Ravens

Bengals

Following the Bengals recent decision to release S George Iloka, veteran DE Michael Johnson says he isn’t worried about his status with the team and is instead focused on doing what he can to be “disciplined and dependable.

“Why would I think about that?” Johnson said, via Jay Morrison of The Athletic. “I come in and I work hard and I do whatever I’m asked to do, and I don’t worry about all that. You can’t. Of course you see what’s going on, but you control what you can control. You get to focusing and worrying about all the other stuff, you get distracted, and that ain’t what you want. I’m just focused on being disciplined and dependable.”

Browns

  • Dianna Russini points out that while the Browns have shown interest in WR Dez Bryant, they have the top waiver priority ahead of roster cuts and it’s possible they could add some receiver help as notable options become available.

Ravens

Ravens HC John Harbaugh said that the decision to keep QB Robert Griffin III on their roster will “go right down to the wire.”

He has played at a starting-caliber level in the games that he’s played, and he’s an experienced guy,” Harbaugh said, via ESPN.com. “I’d rather have him than not have him, for sure, but there are other factors that go into that and we’ll have to figure all that out. Ozzie ultimately will have to make that decision.”
