AFC North Notes: Browns, Ravens, Steelers

Browns

Browns QB Baker Mayfield said Wednesday during an interview with WKRK-AM in Cleveland that Oklahoma HC Lincoln Riley is ready for the NFL.

“Lincoln’s been ready,” Mayfield said Wednesday, via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “It’s just who he is and how he coaches and the respect level he’s had from all of his players, how detailed he is. Yeah, he’s ready. But that’s his decision and you know what, he’s got something special there, so I don’t think anybody is going to blame him if he stays there for the next 20 years.

  • However, Mayfield mentioned that he hasn’t spoken to Riley about possibly taking the Browns’ job. (Mary Kay Cabot)
  • Browns DT Daniel Ekuale has been suspended by the NFL without pay for four games for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances.
  • Browns signed OL Mason Gentry and WR Daniel Williams to their practice squad.

Ravens

  • Ravens HC John Harbaugh said that QB Joe Flacco won’t be a full participant in Wednesday’s practice but he expects him to do more than he did last week. (Jeff Zrebiec)
