AFC North Notes: Browns, Ravens, Steelers

Browns

Browns QBs coach Ken Zampese made it clear that they’re sticking with their plan to start Tyrod Taylor, despite the impressive performance from rookie Baker Mayfield the other night.

“We’re sticking with our plan,” Zampese said, via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. “Let’s get on with Tyrod as our starter. He’s our guy.”

Ravens

  • Ravens OLB Tyus Bowser is dealing with a groin injury, which has sidelined him for an extended period. (Jamison Hensley)
  • Ravens HC John Harbaugh added that Bowser needs to return soon because the competition with Kamalei Correa and Tim Williams is heating up.

Steelers

The NFL issued a statement last week regarding the “defective” ball that was returned to Wilson for review.

Steelers QB Mason Rudolph actually used the ball during the game and explained that it was a “freaky deal.

“I did,” Rudolph said, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “I got the snap and the thing was flat to where it would not be an advantage. That was the weirdest thing. They took it out. It was kind of a freaky deal. … It was one of those balls that was in your grandfather’s garage for a few years. It was pretty flat. It was a bad deal.”

  • Steelers signed OL Zach Banner. (NFLTR)
  • Steelers waived OL Kyle Meadows with an injury designation.
