AFC Notes: Bengals, Bills, Jets, Steelers

Bengals

  • Bengals WR Auden Tate was carted off the practice field on Wednesday after he hit his head hard on the ground during one-on-ones. (Jim Owczarski)
  • Bengals DT Josh Tupou got rolled up on his right ankle and was also carted off of the field. (Paul Dehner Jr)

Bills

Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin says he’s working to “get back to dominating” after dealing with a knee injury last year.

“I’m just trying to go out and work on my craft,” Benjamin said, via ESPN.com. “Get back to just working on my craft and just get back to dominating. … I feel like if I get the targets, I can go out there with the best of them. Anybody. I just need the opportunity.

Jets

  • Jets HC Todd Bowles said Wednesday that WR Quincy Enunwa suffered an undisclosed injury yesterday, but the good news is that it’s not related to the neck injury he dealt with last year. (Rich Cimini)

Steelers

An NFL executive tells Jeremy Fowler that he believes Steelers franchise RB Le’Veon Bell could get close to the kind of money he’s seeking on the open market if he’s able to put together another impressive season.

“I think if he is productive, then maybe [he gets] around where he is making this year,” the exec said. “I think his year will really dictate what he gets. Think people won’t really focus on what he has done in the past but rather just this year.

However, not everyone is as optimistic about Bell’s odds of securing $16 million per year in a long-term deal.

“I think he does well … but if he’s really thinking about the $16 million number, that won’t be what people [in the league] are thinking about,” a separate exec tells Fowler.
