AFC Notes: Bengals, Dolphins, Ravens

Bengals

Bengals second-year WR John Ross explained that he allowed a number of things to get to him last year including injuries.

Last year I let everything get to me,” Ross said, via Bengals.com. “I let my injury get to me. I was trying to do more than I could. I was out of shape. I’m not trying to make excuses, but its real life things. You can’t just come in the NFL and be that guy. You have to come in and prepare. I’ve learned that. It’s growth and progression from here on.”

Ross added he feels “the best I’ve felt since I went into my last year of college.

Dolphins

Dolphins HC Adam Gase mentioned during an interview with Pro Football Talk Wednesday morning that QB Ryan Tannehill wasn’t concerned about the possibility of them drafting a quarterback.

“He’s one of those guys who’s going to worry about himself and keep working. He’s not going to worry about what’s going on outside,” Gase said.

According to Gase, everyone is excited to have Tannehill back under center after he missed the 2017 season after re-tearing his ACL.

“Expect a guy that’s extremely hungry to get back on the field and lead this team,” Gase said. “I think there’s an appreciation for him after him not being here last year and guys are excited for him to get this thing going.

Ravens

Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs said Tuesday that he doesn’t think he’s reached his peak yet in the NFL and expects to play several more seasons.

“To be totally honest with you, I don’t see my peak in my near future,” Suggs said, via Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun. “The answer to your question is yes. We’re definitely going to be two major, key parts of the leadership on this team. We also have other leaders, but from an offensive and defensive standpoint, absolutely. We take that very seriously. We take pride in that. We’re looking forward to doing some special things this year.

“I’ve said this before: It’s a trip to get to do it all again. I love playing ball. I love being Sizzle. When the time comes for me to just be a full-time dad, a full-time actor, writer, director, producer, I will do all that. But right now, it’s flock. Go flock, Ravens nation.”

“I don’t plan on going nowhere,” Suggs added.
