AFC Notes: Bills, Broncos, Raiders & Steelers

Bills

Broncos

Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas indicated that a number of off-the-field matters played a role in his disappointing production from last year, as well as some changes to the team’s offense.

“I think the main thing was sometimes thinking too much,” Thomas said in an interview ith Sirius XM NFL Radio. “As I got my deal done, my mom got out. I was happy to be back with my team, but it was going out on the field, getting the timing down with the new offense. I wasn’t there for OTAs, I wasn’t there for minicamp. And then you had new routes. It was different for the quarterbacks because it was something Peyton [Manning] had never done before, Brock [Osweiler] had never done, either.”

Raiders

  • Jason Cole of B/R reports that the Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee will recommend to build a new stadium for the Raiders at some point in the near future.
  • According to Cole, this may not happen on Thursday, but the recommendation is expected to come soon enough.
  • There are opponents such as MGM, who could fight in the legislature.

Steelers

Steelers 2015 first-round OLB Bud Dupree admitted that he hit a rookie wall last year.

“I just was not being used to playing that many games,” Dupree said, via Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “It took a toll on my body. Now I’m more prepared for that. I’ve been training longer, doing different things that I didn’t have the time to do coming from college. Just a lot of little minor things you need to do, just looking at guys like James Harrison, guys who really take care of their body, following their lead.
