AFC Notes: Bills, Dolphins & Patriots

Bills

Bills WR Marquise Goodwin secured the 12th and final spot in the Olympic long jump qualifier finals.

“That was the goal — just advance to the finals,” Goodwin said, via the Buffalo News. “I’m not out here trying to break the world record. I’m just trying to get things moving in the right direction. . . . Four years ago, I got 10th or 11th overall in the prelims, and I ended up winning the finals. It doesn’t matter what you do today, honestly. Just gotta come back and refocus. It’s a new day.”

Dolphins

Dolphins HC Adam Gase has been impressed with  seventh-round QB Brandon Doughty and his development this offseason.

“He’s made a lot of strides since he’s been here,” Gase said, via Palm Beach Post. “When I look at a lot of our film over the last three weeks before this week, even when he was wrong with where he was going, somehow he’d complete the football.”

Patriots

  • According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, fourth-round WR Malcolm Mitchell is “showing early aptitude” in the Patriots’ offense.
