AFC Notes: Bills, Texans, Titans

Bills

  • Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citingĀ a source with knowledge of the situation, reports that the NFL has decided to defer to local authorities regarding the allegations against Bills RB LeSean McCoy.
  • Local authorities areĀ continuing to investigate the situation involving McCoy‘s ex-girlfriend.
  • Florio says that the NFL would act only after McCoy is formally charged or after the official investigation concludes with no action taken against him, which isĀ consistent with what the league has handled prior cases.

Texans

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Texans QB Deshaun Watson was evaluated for injury after Sunday’s game, but is only dealing withĀ bruised ribs.

Titans

The Titans lost starting QB Blaine Gabbert early on in Sunday’s game, but managed to rally around Marcus Mariota and come away with a 9-6 win.

ā€œThatā€™s just a wolf being a wolf, man,ā€ Titans LTĀ Taylor LewanĀ said, viaĀ TitansOnline.com. ā€œIā€™ll follow that guy anywhere.ā€

ā€œFantastic,ā€ Titans HC Mike VrabelĀ said. ā€œIt was cool for me to be able to give Marcus a game ball in the locker room, to be able to stay focused throughout the week. He cares about his team immensely and he wants whatā€™s best for the team. You saw him come in there and give us a spark, . . . and really seal the deal for us at the end of the game.ā€
