AFC Notes: Broncos, Browns, Chiefs, Texans

Broncos

Veteran LT Ryan Clady tells Mike Klis of 9News that he will retire as a member of the Broncos during a ceremony this weekend.

Patrick Smyth called me a little over a week ago and said the Broncos wanted to bring me out and honor me and wanted me to retire a Bronco, essentially,’’ Clady said of the team’s public relations director Thursday. “I was a bit surprised. But I’m definitely honored to come back and be recognized, see some of my former teammate and a lot of my friends still live there in Denver. It’ll be a good time.’’

Clady announced his retirement from the NFL back in August (NFLTR).

Browns

  • Browns HC Hue Jackson said of re-signing impending free agent RB Isaiah Crowell: “We’re not at a position where we can let players get away.” (Scott Petrak)
  • Jackson told reporters that he hopes LT Joe Thomas comes back and he doesn’t think Thomas has made a decision yet: “This football team needs him.” (Nate Ulrich)

Chiefs

Veteran CB Darrelle Revis said he’s happy to be a member of the Chiefs and looking forward to a postseason run.

“Right now, this is a good organization I’m a part of,” Revis said, via the Kansas City Star. “They treat me first class, the guys are stand-up guys. We have a lot of personalities in here, and this is what I wanted to be a part of. Winning team, winning attitude.”

Revis added that he’s hoping his role will expand in the coming weeks.

“As we continue to win, hopefully I’ll get more snaps and get out there a little bit more,” Revis said. “We’re a team that has a veteran coaching staff and experienced players, and it’s good, man — we understand how to win (and) we’ve been showing that all year. Guys have been doing it before I was here. I’m enjoying it.

Texans

  • According to Howard Balzer, the Texans worked out QB Matt Davis and TE Jevoni Robinson this week.
