AFC Notes: Broncos, Browns, Jaguars, Patriots

Broncos

  • Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas has been a popular name in trade rumors the past few weeks.
  • After Sunday’s game, Thomas was about potentially being traded: “I wish I could tell you. Predict? 50-50. I really don’t know.” (Mike Klis)
  • Thomas that if they had beat the Chiefs today, he probably would not be traded.

Browns

Browns HC Hue Jackson explained that his comments about getting more involved in the team’s offense came out of frustration.

“I don’t want to talk about anything from last week,” Jackson said, via Pro Football Talk. “I said what I said out of frustration. That’s over and done with. Let’s go watch the tape and see how we get better.”

Jaguars

Following Sunday’s game, Jaguars S Barry Church told reporters that the incident that took place at a club in London was a “misunderstanding.”

“There was definitely a misunderstanding, but as far as my actions are concerned, I take full responsibility,” Church said, via ESPN.com. “I don’t want to be a distraction or anything like that to my team and my teammates, but we handled it as a private matter within the team and we’ll just go from there.

“It’s just disappointing how it went down,” Church added. “I didn’t want to be a distraction or anything like that, but hey, it happened. I took full responsibility for it with my teammates, and we just weren’t able to pull a victory out today. It just kind of adds to it. That’s what happened.

Jaguars HC Doug Marrone took responsibility for the incident.

“I think it’s about myself, and I’ve got to do a better job with the players,” Marrone said, via Pro Football Talk. “I mean, it starts with me. Whatever happens and whatever goes on, I’m responsible for it. So we’re working on it, just like the statement said. I’m not really going to go into all of the specific details. We’re still gathering information from it.”

Patriots

  • The New England Patriots officially ruled out RB Sony Michel, OL Marcus Cannon and DE Geneo Grissom for Monday night’s game against the Bills.
