AFC Notes: Broncos, Jets, Leonard Williams

Broncos

  • Albert Breer believes Broncos HC Vance Joseph is back to fighting for his job after the team’s disappointing loss to the 49ers.
  • Breer notes that John Elway has spent time on his school calls this fall getting educated on what’s happening schematically on offense at the college level.

Jets

Jets GM Mike Maccagnan says QB Davis Webb has been “outstanding” for them this year and they’re looking forward to seeing how he develops.

From a character and intangible standpoint, he’s been outstanding,” Maccagnan said, via the New York Daily News. “Very good kid. Works hard. Does show ability. We’re kind of interested to see how he grows and develops. But in reality, we probably won’t know what we truly have in him until, assuming he’s with us next year in preseason when he can actually put the pads on and play with our guys.

Leonard Williams

When asked about a potential extension, Jets DL Leonard Williams said he “can’t worry about that type of stuff” because all he can “control is my play and the way I carry myself and the way I prepare.”

“I’m not like super-excited about the way it’s been going,” Williams said, via Brian Costello of the New York Post. “I definitely feel like I’ve been showing flashes of being good and being able to be dominant. I think I just have to work on being consistent and see what it takes to be consistent.”
