AFC Notes: Broncos, Patriots, Steelers, Texans

Broncos

  • Troy Renck is starting to believe Redskins S Su’a Cravens could end up being traded on draft day, but he admits nothing certain.
  • The Cardinals traded OT Jared Veldheer to the Broncos for a 2018 sixth-round pick. (NFLTR)

Patriots

  • Mike Reiss doesn’t rule out the possibility that the Patriots could consider trading some future picks to move up for a left tackle in this year’s draft.
  • Although, Reiss admits that drafting just four players last year could prevent the Patriots from giving up additional picks this year, so any move up the board would likely be limited.
  • Regarding James Harrison returning the Patriots, Reiss says it likely wouldn’t happen until later on in the offseason and he doesn’t think there’s a great urgency on either side at this point.

Steelers

  • New Steelers S Morgan Burnett‘s signed a three-year, $14.35 million deal includes a $4.25 million signing bonus and base salaries of, $1 million (2018), $5 million (2019), and $4 million (2020).
  • Burnett’s deal also includes a $50,000 workout bonus in 2019 and 2020. (Aaron Wilson)

Texans

Texans OLB Jadeveon Clowney mentioned Friday that he’s hoping to get a long-term extension in place to keep him in Houston for the foreseeable future.

“I want to be here. Hopefully, they lock me in and I’ll be here forever,” Clowney said, per Mark Berman. “It would mean a lot. It’s something I’ve always dreamed of.I want to finish my career here.”
