AFC Notes: Browns, Colts, Dolphins, Ravens

Browns

Browns HC Hue Jackson said that WR Josh Gordon is set to return to practice “very soon” with the goal being that he’s ready for the season opener on Sept. 9.

The most important thing for Josh is let’s make sure he’s in great shape, in a great place,” Jackson said, via Cleveland.com. “Let’s keep being where he’s been since he’s been here, which has been outstanding, and keep moving him forward.”

Jackson admitted that there’s a chance we could see Gordon during the preseason, but the focus is still Week 1.

As I said, there’s a chance against Detroit at the end,” said Jackson. “It’d be great. If not, my real goal is can we get him up and running by the time we play Pittsburgh. I think that’s really important.”

Colts

Colts QB Andrew Luck told reporters after Monday’s preseason game that he was “sort of happy” to be sacked by Terrell Suggs and land on his surgically repaired right shoulder.

“I told someone after the game, ‘I’m sort of happy to get sacked by Suggs, a legit sack,‘” Luck said, via ESPN.com. “I landed on my right elbow sort of reminiscent of how I injured my shoulder a couple of years ago [in 2015 season]. I didn’t feel anything. Didn’t give it a second thought. That’s a big deal for me, being able to lose that thought bubble.”

Luck admitted that his play overall was “sloppy” last night.
