AFC Notes: Browns, Dolphins, Raiders

Browns

New Browns WR Jarvis Landry says that QB Tyrod Taylor has been “amazing” this offseason.

“Amazing,” Landry said of how Taylor looked this offseason, via NFL.com. “Amazing, man. His leadership, his arm, his accuracy and he’s ready, man. He’s the starting quarterback, and I’m sure that, obviously, the decision is up to Hue and the offensive staff, and stuff like that. But I’m sure they’ve been highly impressed with he’s done through OTAs and minicamp.

Dolphins

Former Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry previously mentioned that he didn’t have a great relationship with QB Ryan Tannehill and he wasn’t surprised that Tannehill hasn’t reached out to him since he was traded.

“I’m not surprised,” Landry said when asked why he had not heard from Tannehill since his departure, via NFL.com. “We didn’t really have a good relationship anyway, so I’m not surprised.

“I wasn’t trying to look back in the rearview mirror, you know. I’m focused on here and where we’re taking it here. I wasn’t trying to take a shot at him. I understand how hard every guy in this NFL works, especially at the position, especially at the quarterback position. But at the same time too… I give credit where credit is due.”

Landry attempted to clarify his comments on Thursday in an interview with Sirius XM NFL Radio.

“I have all the respect for Ryan but we didn’t talk that much off the field,” Landry said. “We worked together and that’s what it was. Nothing is wrong with that but everybody seems to make a big deal out of it and it is not a big deal. Not trying to throw shade at him.”

Raiders

New Raiders WR Ryan Switzer explained that being traded by the Cowboys came as a shock to him.

Just the snap of the fingers and your world gets flipped upside down,” Switzer said, via NBC Bay Area. “I’m understanding that. Ultimately, I realized that everything happens for a reason. I’m here where I’m supposed to be and happy to be here.”

Last month, Raiders HC Jon Gruden singled out Swizter as someone who caught his eye this offseason.

Ryan Switzer has really caught my eye,” Gruden said. “Switzer has come in here and not only been a punt returner, kick returner, he’s come in and been a force as a slot receiver. He’s really done well.
