AFC Notes: Browns, Dolphins, & Texans

Browns

  • According to Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland, there’s “tangible evidence” of QB Johnny Manziel‘s improvement this summer.
  • Grossi is hearing that second-year RB Terrance West is “on thin ice” because of maturity issues.

Dolphins

  • First-round WR DeVante Parker (foot surgery) is still roughly 3-4 weeks away from being able to practice. (Armando Salguero)
  • According to Adam Beasley, fifth-round RB Jay Ajayi has been a “bit of a disappointment” so far, despite all of his ability.

Texans

Texans HC Coach Bill O’Brien told reporters on Monday that there’s no leader for the team’s starting quarterback at this point in time.

“That would be absolutely untrue,” O’Brien said of the team possibly starting QB Brian Hoyer over Ryan Mallett, via ESPN.com. “Every play, every day is evaluated. These guys are very even. No decisions have been made.”
