AFC Notes: Colts, Dolphins, Patriots

Colts

  • Colts HC Frank Reich told reporters that WR T.Y. Hilton, who suffered a hamstring injury today, probably will not be able to play on Thursday against the Patriots. (Adam Schefter)
  • Reich was asked about his decision to go for it on fourth down late into overtime: “I’ll just address it now. We’re not playing to tie. We’re going for it 10 times out of 10.” (Zak Keefer)

Dolphins

Dolphins HC Adam Gase said after Sunday’s 38-7 loss to the Patriots that he “didn’t see this coming.”

“No, I didn’t see this coming,” Gase said, via Pro Football Talk. “I didn’t think that we would get out-physicaled. That surprised me. I knew it was going to be tough because that’s just what it is. You come here, I mean I didn’t see too many teams walk out of here [with a win] against a Hall of Fame quarterback. It’s just not going to happen. We’ve got a lot of things to clean up, but it’s fixable.”

While it was a disappointing loss, Gase stressed: “I think it’s one game in a 16-game season.

Patriots

Patriots WR Josh Gordon made his debut for his new team on Sunday and caught both of his targets for 32 yards.

After the game, Gordon says he has “no doubt” he’ll make the most of this opportunity with New England.

“I have no doubt I’m going to take advantage of this opportunity,” Gordon said, via Pro Football Talk. “I’m more than blessed. I’m extremely grateful to be put in this scenario. I think the only thing right for me to do is take full advantage of it. I’m loving it, I’m enjoying it, the guys here are great, it’s a real home environment and I feel as comfortable as ever here. It’s awesome.
