AFC Notes: Colts, Raiders, Texans, Titans

Colts

  • Colts HC Frank Reich said Thursday that RB Marlon Mack (hamstring ) is not a “slam dunk” to be ready for Week One. (Kevin Bowen)

Raiders

  • Albert Breer of TheMMQB.com says that holdout DE Khalil Mack is not available for trade, despite speculation and reports that there’s interest around the league in him.
  • According to Breer, there hasn’t been any progress made between the Raiders and Mack on a long-term deal and depending on whether Aaron Donald gets heavy guarantees and a favorable contract structure, it’s possible Mack could dig in further in his stance.

Texans

Texans QB Deshaun Watson said he feels comfortable “mentally, physically” after recovering from a torn ACL.

I’m good with where I’m at. I’m right where I needed to be as far as mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, just being able to come out here each and every day and try to get better,” said Watson, via Aaron Wilson.

Titans

Titans rookie RB Akrum Wadley acknowledged that he is still competing for a roster spot.

I just have to go out there and give my all,” Wadley said, via Jim Wyatt of the Titans’ official site. “And whatever happens, happens.”

Wadley added that he must stay consistent and learn from his previous mistakes, but overall feels he is playing well this preseason.

I feel like I just have to be consistent and improve and not make the same mistakes I’ve made,” Wadley said. “But I feel like I am having a pretty decent preseason.”
