AFC Notes: Jets, Patriots, Titans

Jets

  • Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News mentions that the Jets took a cautious approach this summer with WR Quincy Enunwa, who is returning from a season-ending neck injury.
  • Mehta says that the Jets would be smart to consider using Enunwa as a hybrid tight end in 2018, seeing as he’s 6-2 and was a solid blocker for the team before his injury.
  • Enunwa could be in line for a good year, seeing as he’s playing under a restricted tender and could cash in next offseason with an impressive 2018 season.

Patriots

According to Jim McBride of the Boston Globe, Patriots DE Adrian Clayborn was a “consistent force off the edge” during OTAs and minicamp, “typically getting the jump on any tackles who were trying to keep him at bay.

As for his decision to sign with the Patriots, Clayborn explained that he had to wait for some more notable players to come off the board before seeing what the best available option was.

“I was kind of low on the totem pole, so I had to wait until the big guys picked and then see [what teams] were left over,” Clayborn said.

Titans

Titans HC Mike Vrabel mentioned that they brought in former DE Jared Allen to work with the team’s pass rushers.

“Anything we can get around our players that can help us, great,” Vrabel said, via TitansOnline.com. “Having an idea of things he could do to help our team and to help our players, we were able to get him out here and work with some guys in the Phase 2 program where a lot of that is individual drills and position specific development. The more he can be around here and working with one or two guys, I think that is key, trying to do things to help our players improve.
