AFC Notes: Patriots, Ravens, Titans

Patriots

  • Mike Giardi of NBC Sports Boston reports that Patriots QB Tom Brady has been working out and throwing passes to WR Julian Edelman in the Gillette Stadium practice bubble on a “semi-regular basis.
  • Patriots owner Robert Kraft has said that he expects Brady and TE Rob Gronkowski to be in attendance for the start of mandatory minicamp later this month.

Ravens

New Ravens WR Michael Crabtree said that his veteran status automatically makes him the leader of the team’s receiving core.

I don’t have a choice,” Crabtree said, via NFL.com. “I’m going on 10 [years] in the game, and all these guys are three-, four-, first-year guys. That’s just my role. At the same time, I’m out there competing like I’m 21, so I’m going to have fun with it.”

Titans

Titan TE Delanie Walker said he is the best tight end in the NFL based on his blocking, catching, and breaking tackle abilities.

Honestly, I feel like I’m the best tight end in the league in all phases,” Walker said, via Jason Wolf of the Tennessean. “Blocking, run blocking, catching the ball, breaking tackles, stuff like that. At the end of the day, if you don’t feel like that you shouldn’t be in the league.”
