Raiders HC Jon Gruden says he’s hoping to bring LT Donald Penn back from injured reserve before the end of the season.

“He has been downstairs rehabbing and we are hoping he can come back and help us,” Gruden said, via Scott Bair of NBC Bay Area. “I don’t know how close he is officially, but he is making progress. Hope to have him on the field before the season is over.

Steelers

  • The Steelers tried out TEs Billy Brown and Donnie Ernsberger last week. (Howard Balzer)

Texans

  • Texans HC Bill O’Brien said WR Keke Coutee (hamstring) is “trending toward” playing Week 13’s game against the Browns. (Aaron Reiss)
  • According to O’Brien, RB D’Onta Foreman (PUP) is “not all the way back yet” in his return from an Achilles tear: “I think he feels good. We’ve got a little more time on that decision.” (Aaron Wilson)
