AFC Notes: Ravens, Steelers, Titans

Ravens

Ravens former first-round WR Breshad Perriman admitted he’s entering a make-or-break season in Baltimore.

“It’s a scary topic,” Perriman said, via the Baltimore Sun. “You know what’s on the line; you know that everything is on the line. It’s kind of like a make-or-break year, but at the same time, you can’t put that extra pressure on yourself. So I just really want to go out there and get better every day and control what you can control. Go out there and get better every day and go hard and everything will play out.”

The Ravens are reportedly picking up Perriman’s roster bonus. (NFLTR)

Steelers

  • Joe Rutter of Tribune-Review writes that a contract extension for K Chris Boswell remains “unfinished financial business” for the Steelers.
  • Boswell is playing out the year under a one-year restricted tender and will be an unrestricted free agent next March.
  • Rutter points to the contracts signed by Bears K Cody Parkey (four years, $9M guaranteed), Titans K Ryan Succop (five-year, $7.5M guaranteed) and Panthers K Graham Gano (four-year, $9M guaranteed) as the kind of deal it will likely take to get Boswell under contract.

Titans

  • Jim Wyatt of TitansOnline.com fully expects rookie ILB Rashaan Evans and OLB Harold Landry to both have impacts in their first season with Tennessee. However, Wyatt admits that it remains to be seen when either will secure starting jobs.
  • Regarding the team’s receiver position, Wyatt mentions that GM Jon Robinson appears to be putting his faith in their current unit. Even so, Wyatt doesn’t rule out the possibility that the Titans could consider bringing a receiver at some point.
