AFC Rumors: Bengals, Bills, Colts, Raiders

Bengals

• Alex Marvez reports that Jon Kitna is interviewing for a position on Marvin Lewis‘ coaching staff.
• However, it remains to be seen what the exact role Kitna is being considered for, but the Bengals do have a vacant quarterbacks coach job.
• A source tells Marvez that Kevin Coyle will not be returning as secondary coach.

Bills

• Mike Rodak of ESPN believes the most likely scenario for the Bills and QB Tyrod Taylor is to explore a trade for him this offseason.
• Buffalo will have to make a decision regarding Taylor by the third day of the league year, which is when he’s owed a $6 million roster bonus.
• If the Bills were to release Taylor, it would result in a cap hit of $3 million, but trading him reduces this figure to $2 million.
• Rodak also wouldn’t be surprised to see the Bills attempt to trade LT Cordy Glenn this offseason after he dealt with foot, ankle and back injuries in 2017.
• According to Rodak, $6.5 million of Glenn’s 2018 base salary will become fully guaranteed on the third day of the league year, and has a $2 million roster bonus due on the fifth day of the league year, which means a decision regarding his future in Buffalo would likely be made by then.
• Another trade candidate tossed out by Rodak could be former first-round DE Shaq Lawson, who has been a disappointment his first two years in Buffalo.

Colts

• David Kaplan reports that the Colts were all in on hiring Chiefs OC Matt Nagy before he agreed to take the Bears’ job on Monday.
• According to Kaplan, uncertainty regarding the health of QB Andrew Luck and Nagy’s belief the Bears roster is much better and m the de decision for him.
• A source tells Kaplan that Bears GM Ryan Pace “landed him by convincing him sunny days are ahead for the Bears.”

Raiders

• Paul Gutierrez of ESPN wonders if there’s room for both Jon Gruden and RB Marshawn Lynch in Oakland next season.
• Lynch is owed a $1 million roster bonus due on the fifth day of the league year, so there should be an answer about his status by then.
• If the Raiders were to release Lynch, they would incur no dead money and pick up $6 million of cap space.
• Gutierrez points out that Lynch was actually the Raiders’ best offensive player the second half of the season and the team is currently without an obvious candidate to replace him as their lead runner.
