Jaguars

Jaguars QB Blake Bortles praised recently signed WR Donte Moncrief‘s ability to beat press coverage and thinks he will be a red zone threat for Jacksonville.

That’s just something we haven’t seen in a while – a guy who’s able to go out in press coverage and win on a slant – win one on one and get inside. He’ll be able to be a threat in the red zone when we get down there as well,” said Bortles, via John Oehser.

Texans

Now that the Bears and Rams have signed Khalil Mack and Aaron Donald to record-setting extensions, Texans OLB Jadeveon Clowney says he wants to join them atop the pay scale for defensive players.

“I came out with them guys,” Clowney said, via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. “Of course, I want to be up there with them.”

Clowney stressed the significance of timing as it relates to these contracts.

“Timing, it’s all about timing in everything about this league,” Clowney said. “Injuries happen. You get paid at a certain time. You hit the market at the right time. They hold out. They got what they deserve. I think those guys deserve those contracts.
