AFC South Notes: Colts, Jaguars, Texans

Colts

Colts HC Frank Reich recently mentioned that first-round OL Quenton Nelson‘s ability shows up “all over the tape.

“You can see the instincts,” Reich said, via the Indianapolis Star. “One of the things on tape everybody said was this guy was the best pulling guard (prospect) ever. You can see that — man, it just shows up all over the tape.”

Jaguars

  • Hays Carlyon of 1010xl.com writes that Jaguars DE Dante Fowler has lost sizable muscle mass in his upper body after sitting out of mandatory minicamp, due to an upper-body injury.
  • When asked whether Fowler would be ready for the start of training camp, Jaguars HC Doug Marrone said: “We will just see.”
  • Fowler is entering the final year of his rookie contract after the Jaguars declined to pick up his fifth-year option (NFLTR) a few months ago.

Texans

The Texans recently made the decision to move CB Kareem Jackson to safety for the 2018 season.

“I like it,” Jackson said of the move, via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. “I had a lot of work there at OTAs and minicamp. I’m looking forward to it. To me, it’s all about helping the team any way I can.

“So by moving there, I think I’ll be able to do that. I just try to improve my game in every aspect and work on my game any way I can and try to be physically ready for the season.”
