AFC West Notes: Broncos, Chargers, Raiders

Broncos

  • Mike Klis adds that the Broncos are bringing in Bears OLB coach Brandon Staley for an interview Monday.
  • According to Troy Renck, Loren Landow will remain in his role as the Broncos’ head strength and conditioning coach.
  • Nicki Jhabvala reports that Broncos special teams coordinator Tom McMahon and assistant special teams coach Chris Gould are officially returning.

Chargers

Following Sunday’s loss to the Patriots, veteran Chargers TE Antonio Gates told reporters that he can’t see himself retiring from the NFL.

“I just don’t see myself walking away with this taste,” Gates said, via ESPN.com. “And plus this team. I think when you add Hunter [Henry] back, and hopefully we get Jason Verrett back — shoot, the sky’s the limit. And I want to be a part of it.

“But that has to be a collective decision. I can’t just want to come back. So we’ll see how it goes.

Raiders

  • Former Buccaneers OL coach Brentson Buckner announced that he’s joining the Raiders’ staff in the same role. (Greg Auman)
