Broncos

  • Broncos HC Vance Joseph mentioned that offensive line as a priority for them this offseason: “I think offensive line is always a priority outside of quarterback. We have to play better at quarterback. That’s apparent, right.” (Nicki Jhabvala)
  • ”According to Joseph, they’re discussing the possibility of moving Ron Leary to left guard. (Mike Klis)
  • Broncos executive VP John Elway said every option is on the table when it comes to finding a quarterback, including all of their free agent quarterbacks. Elway added that he’s confident they have the ability to do what they want to do in terms of their salary cap. (Lindsay Jones)
  • Elway said they’re “open for business” at No. 5 overall: “We’ll be open for business on the fifth pick depending on how things fall.” (Nicki Jhabvala)
  • When asked if he expects CB Aqib Talib and RB C.J. Anderson to be back, Elway said: “We’ll see. … I’m not going to guarantee they’ll be back but I’m not going to say they’re gone either.” (Nicki Jhabvala)

  • Regarding UCLA QB Josh Rosen, Elway said he would like to have a formal interview with the first-round prospect. (Mike Klis)

Chiefs

  • Chiefs HC Andy Reid said that he has already asked free-agent LB Derrick Johnson to return to the team in a coaching role if he is unable to land a deal on the open market. (Terez A. Paylor)
  • Reid said that he would “definitely” be interested in drafting Louisville QB Lamar Jackson: “Yeah I’d definitely give it a try there. Give it a whirl and see how he does.” (Nicki Jhabvala)
  • When asked if he would play Jackson at receiver, Reid said that he would initially keep him at quarterback: “I think I would give the QB thing a whirl. He’s been pretty good at that. I would exhaust that option first.” (Troy Renck)

Raiders

  • Raiders HC Jon Gruden said of RB Marshawn Lynch: “He’s still a beast, that’s hard to bring down…I’m counting on him. I’m counting on him to be a big part of our football team.” (Paul Gutierrez)
  • As for Lynch’s status with the team, McKenzie simply said: “We want to keep our good players.” (Michael Gehlken)
  • Regarding QB Derek Carr, Gruden said: “I thought Derek did some good things, honestly, (in 2017). … He’s a lot of fun to be around, Derek Carr. I enjoyed having him on my show a couple years ago.” (Michael Gehlken)
  • Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie said of LB NaVorro Bowman: “We would like to bring him back. We like to bring just about all our free agents back.” (Michael Gehlken)
  • McKenzie confirmed that WR Michael Crabtreeis in our plans” for 2018, but did not specify whether his contract will need to be renegotiated. (Michael Gehlken)
  • While McKenzie would not elaborate on the contract situation for DE Khalil Mack, he did say that they want to make sure he stays with them long-term: “I’m not going to get into contracts; I never do. But, make no bones about it, we want Khalil Mack to be a Raider.
