AFC West Notes: Broncos, Chiefs, Raiders

Broncos

Broncos executive VP John Elway made it clear that they aren’t giving up on former first-round pick Paxton Lynch and expect him to compete for the backup job this summer along with Chad Kelly.

We are not kicking him to the curb,’’ Elway said, via Mike Klis of 9 News. “He can still develop. When we drafted him two years ago, as I said, we knew it was going to take some time.

“Paxton is going to compete with Chad for that backup spot. We are not going to bring another one in for OTAs. We will take a peek at that. It will be those two and Case. We are going to OTAs with those guys and go from there.

Chiefs

  • Geoff Mosher reports that the Chiefs are hiring Eagles assistant director of college scouting Michael Bradway.

Raiders

  • While a report surfaced on Sunday that the Raiders were planning to make changes to their personnel department, Ian Rapoport doesn’t think that will actually be the case and he instead has heard that many scouts and personnel people recently signed new deals.
  • There’s a rumor that current Redskins president Bruce Allen could be interested in returning to the Raiders. (NFLTR)
