Agent: Evan Mathis To Decide On Next Team By End Of The Week

Drew Rosenhaus, the agent for free agent G Evan Mathis, mentioned that he and his client expect to make a decision on his next team by the end of the week.

“The news is we’ll have a decision on a team by the end of this week,” Rosenhaus said during an interview with South Florida’s WSVN-7, via the Miami Herald.

Mathis met with the Seahawks this past weekend, but ultimately left the visit without an agreement in place. This is the only visit Mathis has taken since becoming a free agent several months ago.

However, the Titans are reportedly monitoring the situation and the Dolphins continue to come up as a potential option for Mathis, given their lack of depth at guard.

Mathis, 33, is among the best available free agents, but there hasn’t been as much interest in him as many expected, which likely has something to do with his asking price.

Recent reports have mentioned that Mathis is looking for close to $5.5 million for the 2015 season.

Last year, Mathis appeared in nine games for the Eagles after he dealt with an MCL injury. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 2 guard out of 78 qualifying players.

We have Mathis rated as the No. 1 player in our Top 25 Available Free Agents list.
