Jets Not Interested In RB Ahmad Bradshaw

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Jets do not have interest in free agent running back Ahmad Bradshaw.

Bradshaw mentioned that he’s considered the idea of joining the Jets since he’s spent the last number of years living in New York.

Former Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw joined “NFL AM” on Tuesday and mentioned that he’s considered the idea of playing for the Jets next season.

In playing with the Giants, they had mentioned that there was a chance for me to come back. I’m always up for that,” said Bradshaw, via NFL.com. “Whatever, whoever needs me, whoever can use me. Whoever I feel that I can get a better chance of playing and helping which team. The New York Jets are a team that I’ve kinda been thinking about, just to stay home, not make a big move from New York. It’s just right across the street from where I am now.”

Bradshaw, 26, was recently released by the Giants after they were forced to free up some much needed cap room. Bradshaw has quickly become one of, if not, the best available running back on the open market.

Upon being released, there was talk that he could return to the Giants at some point, but it appears as though that may just be speculation on the part of Bradshaw.

The Jets, on the other hand, could obviously use a solid running back seeing as Shonn Greene will be an unrestricted free agent, but Bradshaw comes with some serious concerns relating to his injury history. On top of that, the Jets are in as bad of a cap situation as any team in the league, so it’s hard to imagine them competing financially for his services.

We have Bradshaw listed as the No. 36 best available free agent in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
