Alabama LB C.J. Mosley An Option For The Vikings At No. 8 Overall?

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network believes the Vikings will consider Alabama LB C.J. Mosley at No. 8 overall.

  • Rapoport adds that the Packers could be a landing spot for Mosley as well.

Peter King mentioned on Monday that the Vikings are looking for front-seven defenders, so assuming he’s correct, you would have to think that Mosley, Anthony Barr and Aaron Donald could all be in play for Minnesota.

It’s worth mentioning that Mosley has reportedly visited with the Broncos, Titans and Ravens in recent months.

Mosley is widely considered to be the best available inside linebacker in this year’s draft class, but it appears as though Ohio State’s Ryan Shazier is now in the discussion as well.

Inside linebackers have seen their value decrease to some degree in recent years, which could play a role in where Mosley comes off the board, but he should at least hear his name called at some point on Thursday.

Last year, Mosley totaled 108 tackles — nine of which came for a loss — five pass defenses and a forced fumble for the Crimson Tide defense.

We have the Packers taking Mosley at No. 21 overall in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
