Aldon Smith Arrested Again, This Time For Violating Court Order

Evan Sernoffsky is reporting that former 49ers and Raiders OLB Aldon Smith has been arrested again in San Francisco.

Smith’s latest arrest is for allegedly violating a court order by contacting the victim in the earlier domestic violence incident that occurred back on March 3, per Sernoffsky.

The San Francisco police department issued a warrant and Smith turned himself in Friday morning.

The prior domestic violence incident involving Smith led to him facing charges of willful infliction of corporal injury, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, false imprisonment and vandalism, which happen to all be misdemeanors.

Smith checked himself into rehab shortly after the incident with the help of his fiancee’s parents.

The Raiders announced his release from the reserve/retired list soon after.

Smith, 28, is a former first-round pick of the 49ers back in 2010. He was cut loose by the 49ers shortly after a DUI incident in 2015, even though San Francisco picked up his fifth-year option.

Smith later signed a one-year deal with the Raiders that was worth up to $8 million, which was largely incentive-based. Oakland elected to re-sign Smith to a two-year, $11.5 million contract in 2016.

The Raiders placed Smith on the reserve/suspended list a few years ago before cutting him loose Monday.

In 2015, Smith recorded 28 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, and three pass defenses over the course of nine games.
