An Idea Of What Patriots Receivers Could Be Cut

Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston offered his take on which receivers he can see making the Patriots 53-man roster.

Reiss has Wes WelkerBrandon LloydJabar GaffneyDeion BranchJulian Edelman and Matthew Slater as the six receivers that should make the team, which leaves Chad Ochocinco, Donte’ Stallworth and Anthony Gonzalez on the chopping block.

There’s no question that the odds are against guys like Ochocinco, Stallworth and Gonzalez to make the team. The’ll have to be extremely impressive, while catching some breaks along the way. The addition of Gaffney really hurt Stallworth’s chances, as he figured to be the favorite of these three to secure a roster spot. Ochocinco never caught on last season and Gonzalez’s injury history leaves him as a long shot as well.

If Reiss is accurate with his prediction, the Patriots would certainly have a much improved group of receivers to go with their already formidable tight ends.
