Andre Johnson Out For Week 9?

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports that Texans WR Andre Johnson is still having trouble accelerating following a hamstring injury that occurred a few weeks back. Glazer added that Johnson is especially having trouble playing against defenders in practice which is a pretty bad for his Week 9 status.

Johnson still wasn’t at 100 percent on Friday which forced head coach Gary Kubiak to hold him out of Sunday’s game against the Jaguars. So far it appears that Johnson is able to run but not enough to be effective against opponents. There enough time for Johnson to recover and still play in Week 9 but Houston is more likely to keep him out of what appears to be a winnable home game against the Browns and see how he’s feeling afterwards. The Texans have their bye in Week 11 so there’s a chance that he could be held out of Week 10 as well.
