Andy Reid Bringing Donovan McNabb With Him To Arizona?

ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio mentioned that there’s actually a chance that Andy Reid could look to sign QB Donovan McNabb as a backup if he does in fact become the next head coach of the Arizona Cardinals.

Reid had to be talked into trading McNabb to Washington by the General Manager, Howie Roseman, kicking and screaming,” Paolantonio said, via Pro Football Talk. “I’m just warning you, don’t be surprised if it happens.

Paolantonio is wondering why the Cardinals would even consider hiring Reid after what’s transpired over the last two seasons. Paolantonio makes the case that Philadelphia could have been a 1-15 team had a few plays gone differently.

McNabb, 36, seems like a long-shot to return to the NFL in any capacity. Previous reports indicated that Reid’s main sales-pitch to the Cardinals was going to be that he’s capable of fixing Kevin Kolb, who’s under contract for $8 million next season. Both of these options will do little to inspire the Cardinals fan base, assuming that he even gets the job. At this point in time, that’s by no means a guarantee.
