Andy Reid’s Interview With The Chiefs “Went Well”

Reuben Frank reports that he received a text from Andy Reid that his interview with the Chiefs “went well.”

Reid’s meeting with the Cardinals could be pushed back to Friday due to the meeting going long.

It’s hard to speculate as to whether or not the Chiefs could even be a serious contender at this point given all of the leaked information that’s been circulated in the past 24 hours, but we should know more by Friday.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that Andy Reid will interview with the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday afternoon and then fly to Arizona to meet with the Cardinals on Thursday, via Adam Schefter.

If Kansas City is in fact interested in Reid, it would be a pretty clear indication that current GM Scott Pioli is not on as stable of ground as it seemed. Reid would almost certainly require that he bring in his own GM like Tom Heckert who’s already been linked to Reid.

On Tuesday, it seemed like a deal was very close to being done between the Cardinals and Reid, but it now looks as if Reid’s agent was leaking information to the media in hopes of gaining leverage over the team. There’s a chance that this could backfire on Reid as the Cardinals are seriously considering DC Ray Horton as their next head coach. Horton will have interviewed twice for the position by the end of the week, so Reid will have to really persuade them otherwise if he’s to get the job.
