Anquan Boldin Has No Plans To Retire, Has Yet To Hear From 49ers About Possible Return

49ers veteran WR Anquan Boldin recently said that he has no plans to call it a career after this season.

“No, this isn’t the end,” Boldin said during a phone interview Thursday, via Cam Inman of the San Jose Mercy News.

As for whether the 49ers have spoken to him about returning for another season, Boldin said: “I haven’t heard anything, at this point. Hopefully I will hear something.

Boldin added that he isn’t concerned about his durability or health moving forward.

“For me, it’s an isolated incident,” Boldin said of his hamstring injury. “I’ve been durable over my career. I haven’t missed a game since (the 2012 regular-season final), and that was because we’d already secured a playoff spot.

“I’m not worried about my durability or health, at all.”

There was talk that Boldin could have been traded ahead of the recent deadline, but the 49ers’ asking price was reportedly too high for interested teams.

Boldin, 35, is in the final year of his two-year, $12 million contract that included $5.5 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $5.5 million for the 2015 season.

This season, Boldin has appeared in seven games for the 49ers and caught 31 passes for 372 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 23 receiver out of 118 qualifying players.
